Chronomeridian Academy was founded by a group of working watchmakers who saw a widening gap between the number of mechanical watches in circulation and the number of technicians qualified to service them. Rather than build another theory-heavy certificate program, we built a bench.
Every program at Chronomeridian is structured around direct, supervised bench work. Students spend the majority of their training hours disassembling, diagnosing, and reassembling real mechanical movements under the guidance of instructors who still work on client pieces themselves. We believe horological skill is built through repetition at the bench, not through lecture alone.
Our student body includes career-changers entering the trade for the first time, jewelry and retail professionals expanding into repair services, and experienced hobbyists seeking formal certification of skills they have developed independently. Class sizes are kept small to preserve one-on-one bench time with instructors.
Our workshop is equipped with individual benches, precision loupes and microscopes, cleaning and lubrication stations, and a reference library of movement calibers spanning both vintage and contemporary manufacture. Students work with real client-grade tools from their first week of instruction.
